ANSWERS TO SOME COMMON QUESTIONS
Please get in touch if there’s something we have missed!
- Do we take shorter booking?
Bookings are usually weekly Friday to Friday during the busier months, although we do take shorter bookings for a minimum of 3 nights during quieter periods.
Any questions on availability please contact us.
- Do we accept dogs?
The Loft now accepts dogs, subject to conditions.
Complimentary dog treats on arrival!- Is The Loft suitable for children?
Children over the age of four are welcome – unfortunately the cottage is not suitable for babies and toddlers (it is not possible to install stair gates or accommodate cots and buggies).
- When is the balance due for my holiday?
A deposit of one-third of the total cost is required to confirm your booking with the balance due two months before your holiday commencement date.
- Where can I buy my groceries?
The nearest larger supermarket is Tesco in Carbis Bay. However, there are two small Co-op supermarkets in St Ives town centre along with The Allotment Deli on Fore Street.
- What time is check-in/check-out?
Check-in is from 3pm on arrival day and check-out up to 10am on departure day.
- What happens if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel we would endeavour to re-let the property and, if successful, will make a full refund for any payments already made. If the property was not re-let then all of the rental amount would still be due.
We strongly recommend taking out a cancellation insurance policy to cover such loses.- How do I make a booking?
Book online from the ‘Availability & Booking’ page via our So St Ives website at www.sostives.co.uk
Alternatively you can complete the enquiry form on this website or send a booking enquiry by email. If you prefer you can book and pay over the phone.
We require a deposit of one-third of the total to confirm the booking with the remaining balance payable two months before your booking commences.- Are there any other charges?
There is an additional booking fee of £20 per booking.
There are no extra charges for wi-fi, cleaning, heating, gas, electricity, water or anything else.
- Does the cottage have WiFi?
Yes, WiFi is provided free of charge.
- Where is the cottage?
The Loft is situated in Hicks Court, a quiet courtyard just metres from Porthmeor Beach in the old fishing quarter of Downalong in St Ives.
- Is smoking permitted?
No, the property is strictly non-smoking, although we do have a small outside terrace on which smoking is permitted.
- Is bed linen included?
Yes, and also towels and t-towels (you will need to bring your own beach towels).
- What else is included?
We provide welcome provisions such as toilet roll, kitchen roll, pint of milk, biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar.
